SCP Through a Jump Host

Copy a file from a server that's only reachable through a bastion/jump host down to your local machine using scp with ProxyJump.

Pulls a file off a server you can’t reach directly by hopping through a jump host. ProxyJump tunnels the scp connection through the bastion, so you never have to copy the file onto the jump host in between.

scp -o ProxyJump=<jumphost-subdomain>.it.ohio-state.edu <admin-account>@<real-server>.it.ohio-state.edu:~/<source-filename> ./<file-name-on-local>

Replace the placeholders with your jump host, admin account, target server, and file names. To push a file the other direction, swap the source and destination arguments.
